The RA National Assembly Speaker Galust Sahakyan sent a Letter of Condolence for the untimely death of the Director of Matenadaran, Corresponding Member of National Academy of Sciences of Armenia , Doctor of Philological Sciences Hrachya Tamrazyan. The NA Speaker’s message reads as follows:

“Hrachya Tamrazyan is the type of an intellectual and a man whose thinking was the integrity of artistic expression and thought, and sincere feelings, whose lifestyle was typical to a modest thinker, faithful devotee to both the culture and honest human relations. In contact with him you could feel yourself in a real humane atmosphere, reading his poetry you could find yourself just in the poetic atmosphere, his translations became original for the reader, his literary mind was directly available, his words were deep, complex, but at the same time clear, without formalities and conventionality, he managed to stay as a friend and a scientist irrespective of his position.      

Hrachya continued with dignity the Tamrazyans’ intellectual family traditions, creating lasting history with his live, activities and character, which will always stay alive as a memory in the atmosphere of family, friends and literature missing his presence.    

At this grave moment of loss I express my deepest sympathy to Hrachya Tamrazyan’s family, relatives and all those for whom Hrachya remains an unforgettable friend, distinguished intellectual and a man of pure culture.
